Maison Bois Fleurie is a beautiful early 19th century house with its own chapel. At one time this 2 hectare site was used as a convent. Now fully restored and refurbished, the house is an idyllic French retreat nestled away form the hustle and bustle of modern life in the rural village of Souvigne.

Set in 11/2 hectares of landscaped gardens and orchard.

We offer Chambre d'Hote (Bed & Breakfast) and 2 self catering cottages, Fleurie and Studio. There is also a 5x10 metre swimming pool and sun terrace, available for all our guests.

Tastefully decorated with individual colour schemes,all rooms have private bathromms and garden views. All provided with tea and coffee making facilities,clock radio and hairdryer.

Dinner is available for all our guests, if required, and is personnally prepared by Sue Woods Chef de Cuisine.
The evening commences with an aperitif using local specialities, served with homemade canapés. The meal consists of 4 courses, using organically home-grown and fresh produce, accompanied by unlimited quantities of local wine and finishing with coffee. Table settings of bone china and linen napkins.

Attractions

The Departement of Deux Sevres is know as France's Best Kept Secret, because it is still largely un spoilt and retains the charm of the true rural France.

Visit the pretty town of Cognac (1hr) and take a tour of a brandy house, finising, of course, with a tasting.

Take a trip to the sophisticated seaside town of La Rochelle (locally known as Paris by the sea). Sample sea food at one of the many restaurants (there are enough for you to visit a different one every day for a year).Take a boat trip to one of the islands or simply relax and soak up the atmosphere.

If you enjoy markets, Lezay Market on a Tuesday is a must. This is the largest country market in western France, and is only 20 minutes away from Maison Bois Fleurie.
